![]() ![]() An external drive such as yours would be a liability as I carry my Surface around all the time during the day- making certain the external drive is plugged in whenever my Surface is on (in my car, in a waiting room, wherever) even though I may not have a solid surface to rest it on - which means it easily could fall to the floor! (and has!!) I have a Surface Pro3 laptop (laptablet?) with a 128GB mini-SD drive more or less permanently installed. When it is NOT plugged in, the Dropbox folk are afraid the connection between your laptop and their server will be broken long enough to erase all your stuff. Which infers that there are times it might not be. But I notice you say that your external drive is 'pretty much permanently' plugged in. Sara L.- This is the 'favored' way, and it works nicely. then leave it for a few days to upload, bypassing my limited 256GB computer, but confidently doing its job in background mode? Has anybody found a slick, easy to use and trustworthy APP or easy method to click onto a directory with say 10Gb files inside from an external Hard Disk. The uploader didn't transfer all files and I only saw a very brief error message on 5 of the 100 files that didn't copy.but it dissapeared too quickly for me to check and redo! ![]() and I want to use the remainng 1TB that I have paid for.
